About the Role

As part of YIPDI’s HR strategy, the HR Manager will support field teams by
delivering high-quality HR services, ensuring line managers and employees are
equipped to meet operational challenges. The role ensures consistent application
of HR strategy, policies, and processes, while coordinating all aspects of
workforce management, recruitment, performance, training, and development
in line with YIPDI’s organizational priorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and implement HR strategies aligned with the organizational HR strategy.
• Develop and coordinate HR systems, policies, and frameworks.
• Ensure HR processes comply with YIPDI policies and legal requirements.
• Guide HR processes for consultancy contracts.
• Set up and maintain HR organizational structure.
• Lead talent acquisition, onboarding, and offboarding processes.
• Guide career development, talent management, learning, and staff development.
• Lead and coordinate the performance appraisal process.
• Oversee employee relations, grievances, and staff engagement.
• Support workforce planning, HR motivation, and retention efforts.
• Advise line managers on all people management responsibilities.
• Act as a change ambassador and guide managers during HR transformation.
• Coach and supervise HR service providers and HR teams.
• Implement HR projects and propose new HR initiatives where required.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as HR Manager or HR Business Partner.
• University degree in Public Administration, Business Admin, International Relations, Sociology, Political Science, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Professional HR diploma; strong HR technical expertise.
• Experience managing complex and diverse teams.
• Experience working in international or humanitarian environments.
• Strong IT literacy; excellent English; Hausa or Kanuri an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of HR systems, employment law, HR administration, workforce planning, compensation, and performance management.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, coaching, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in insecure environments.
• People-oriented and results-driven approach.
• Ability to lead, mentor, and develop HR staff.
